Deconstruct.
Surrender.
Become.
Clinical depth. Coastal practice. Two languages, one ocean. I'm Juan Eduardo Lozano Poeter — an integrative coach trained in clinical mental health, trauma-informed care, and surf therapy. The work meets you where you are: sometimes in conversation, sometimes in breath, sometimes in the lineup at Beacons, Tourmaline, or Cardiff.
Born in San Diego, raised in Mexico. Bilingual, bicultural, and shaped by both. The depth of a clinician applied to the work of becoming who you're meant to be — without the noise, without the performance, without rushing the parts that won't be rushed.
No formulas. No timelines you're supposed to fit. The pace is yours. The pattern is yours. My job is to stay present with what's actually here, ask the questions that matter, and trust that you already know more than you've been told.
How I came to
this work
I was born in San Diego and raised in Mexico. Two languages, two cultural rhythms, two ways of seeing. Mexico taught me about warmth, family, and the wisdom that lives between the words people say. San Diego taught me to question the inherited story and to build something different. I work with both threads — in English and in Spanish — every day.
In my twenties I traveled and lived abroad. I wanted to understand why people break and why they rise. That curiosity led me into the clinical world — trained as a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, learned EMDR, sat with people through some of the hardest seasons of their lives. I came to see the same pattern: healing is rarely one thing. It's psychology, nervous system regulation, story, body, relationships, and the courage to face yourself.
Surfing found me during the pandemic. The world was divided in every direction — and the water was the one place I could actually feel connected. To my breath, to my own thinking, to something larger than the noise. Ocean coaching is the structured version of what happened to me out there.

A note on what coaching is and what it isn't
Coaching with me is not therapy. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you're navigating active depression, severe anxiety, trauma symptoms that need clinical care, suicidal thoughts, or substance dependence, please seek licensed care — and I'm happy to refer you to clinicians I trust.
What coaching is, in my work: a structured space for self-leadership, identity, transitions, and the building of a life that fits who you actually are. My clinical training means I can recognize when something is outside the coaching frame and that recognition is part of what you're paying for.
If you are in crisis, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
Begin the becoming.
This work begins with a conversation. Drop me a note and tell me what's calling you here, what you're hoping for, where you are right now. I read every message myself and respond within one business day.
